Chewy Tubes

Chewy Tubes are innovative oral motor devices designed to provide a resilient, non-food, chewable surface for practicing biting and chewing skills.

Chewy Tubes offer a safe, non-toxic surface for developing biting and chewing skills.  They are made of a thermo-elastic polymer material which is FDA approved.  Chewy tubes are latex free and lead-free.  They do not contain PVC or phthalates.  Chewy Tube colours are all FDA compliant and CE marked.

 Who can use them?

Chewy Tubes are offered to children and adults.  They may be used for use in treatment of individuals who are developing initial oral motor skills, or rehabilitating the jaw after surgery, trauma or stroke.  Young children seeking additional proprioceptive input may also like biting on them.

Chewy Tubes are available in three colours.

The Yellow Chewy Tube (small smooth) features a stem 9.5mm OD and is one of our softer chewy tubes.  It is typically used with infants 9-10 months old or with an individual who cannot open their mouth very wide. 

The Red Chewy Tube (large smooth) has a wider stem of 12.7mm OD and is one of our softer chewy tubes.  It is normally used with toddlers, children who are receptive to oral stimulation, or with adults who have a smaller jaw.

The Green Chewy Tube (knobby) has increased sensory input due to raised bumps on the shaft.  The stem is 15mm OD.  It is also slightly harder than the yellow or red chewy tubes. 

The Blue Chewy Tube is the hardest chewy tube in our selection and also has the widest stem.  This chewy tube is generally used with teens/adults who have a larger jaw.

All tube handles have corrugated ridges to assist with the grasp, which is especially helpful for those who are visually impaired.

NOTE: Not recommended for use with children under 7 months of age.

To clean, wash with mild soap and water. Replace when signs of wear become visible.
