Numbers", accordingly, is divided into three sections
- A theoretical explanation (for adults) of the development of the sensory-motor basis necessary for writing numbers.
- Sensory-motor activities focusing on the concepts of quantity and sequence of numbers 1 through 10, followed by paper and pencil exercises.
- Sensory-motor warm-up exercises on the basic shapes of numbers (vertical lines; horizontal lines; clockwise curves; counterclockwise curves), followed by exercises in which the actual numbers are written.
The author, Gail Kushnir, is a certified special education teacher, pediatric occupational therapist and international lecturer. She has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of handwriting problems in pre-school and elementary school children and in the development of emotional intelligence in young children.
